Introduction

HSEF is a labor union affiliated with the Florida Education Association, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers and the AFL-CIO. HSEF won recognition 1985 and represents all eligible employees of the Transportation, Student Nutrition, Custodial Services and Maintenance departments of the School District of Hillsborough County, Florida.

Our Mission Statement

As providers of the essential services required to assure that the children of Hillsborough County have access to an unparalleled education, our children are our priority. As employees of the School District of Hillsborough County providing our children and the taxpayers with high quality  services  is our ultimate goal.

Our Union was formed to insure that our people, our skills and our efforts are respected and that our rights are protected. Our Union is determined to insure that the needs of our members regarding working conditions, hours, benefits and salaries are met and are maintained at a level consistent with the needs of our families. We represent our members before our employer, the School Board of Hillsborough County, to the very best of our ability not only in the matters stated above, but also in cases of discipline. We continually strive for a relationship with the School Board based on mutual respect and trust. However, we remain vigilant in our efforts to assure compliance with our mutually negotiated contract and stand ready to defend it when necessary. As a Union of employees our duty is to our members. Our commitment is to provide them the best services possible.
